After a hard-fought, four year and two month battle with stage IV colon cancer, Denise T. Quatse, died at home on December 28, 2025.
Denise cherished time spent with her family and friends and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved nature and especially enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, birdwatching, gardening, and camping. She also always looked forward to attending car shows in her 1972 Chevelle Malibu with her husband of 41 years, David W.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters: Angela L. Quatse and her husband, Michael Wildasin of Gettysburg, PA, Maria A., wife of Frank von Heiland of Washington, DC; and Gabrielle K., wife of Matthew Storment of Pahoa, HI. She is also survived by two brothers, Denis Doyle, husband of Janice of Preston, MD, and Terrence Doyle of Boston, VA.
Denise and her family would like to share their profound gratitude for every member of her care teams at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Hospice and Community Care. To the clinical team who fought for every extra day, and the non-clinical staff who ensured her comfort and dignity; you were her second family. Your exceptional care, expertise, support, and compassion gave us over four years of borrowed time that we will cherish forever.
