Denise Robichaud Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. - Shelby Township on Jul. 29, 2025.
Dee Dee Robichaud passed away July 24, 2025, just 5 days shy of her 78th birthday. She was born July 29, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan and spent her youth in Utica, Michigan. She was predeceased by her mother Alice (DeGrace) Stenvig and her sister Pat (Anderson) Hudgens. She is survived by her Husband Jerry Robichaud, sisters Bonnie (Anderson) DiCarlo, Alice Anderson, and brother Paul Anderson. Also many nieces and nephews, Tracy (Hudgens) Brittain, Todd Hudgens, Anthony DiCarlo, Heidi (Anderson)Verran, Gretchen Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Nick Anderson, Katie Anderson, and many grand nephews and nieces.
Denise was an excellent seamstress, employed by Ford Motor Company sewing leather interiors. She also designed and created Halloween costumes for the nephews and nieces, and for the pet dogs. Teaming up with her sister Alice, her home in Clinton Township was referred to as the "Flower Lady's house" in the late 1990's. She was an active member of the Clinton Township Senior Center where she played darts and formed many friendships. As a mail carrier, she loved interacting with her co-workers and customers.
Dee Dee and Jerry traveled to Florida a few times. Spent time with friends in St. Pete, Mardi Gras in Disney World, two Caribbean cruises, fed sting rays by hand, climbed Dunn's River Falls, Visited the Hemingway house in Key West. Had coffee at Alkai Point watching sunrise over Mt. Rainier. Went to Hemingway's grave in Ketchum, ID. and a hot air balloon ride in Phoenix.
Dee Dee was always ready for an adventure. Traveled to Europe twice, climbed the Matterhorn, going up was easy, the trip down, not so much. Bought her Kniesel skis at the factory in Austria. Skied often locally with a tight knit group of girlfriends. These outings grew to a summertime weekend gathering for the group that soon became a week-long girls only party to different hot spots around the country.
Dee Dee was also an excellent cook. She specially loved pastas, and would always cook the whole pound of pasta, even if there were only two people eating.
DeeDee loved her family fiercely and enjoyed eating and laughing at every family gathering. She had a full life and was loved by all who knew her.
