Denise Margaret (Myhill) Tessen, age 60, passed away on September 29, 2024. Denise was born on December 15, 1963, to parents William and Darlene (Wilson) Myhill in Milwaukee, WI. She lived in Milwaukee until she was 18, and moved to Winchester and began a family. The family moved to Louisiana until a return to Wisconsin brought a chance encounter by way of mutual friends in 1988 where Denise met Chris Tessen, and the rest is, as they say, “history.” They married in 1996.
Denise was a lover of family and the time she was able to spend with her children and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed special family cruises to the Mexican Riviera and other places-traveling with her parents, husband, children, and grandchildren (and even siblings!) provided unbound laughter and joy! The “formal night” on the cruise was always a favorite-she loved to dress up.
Denise was generous and had a huge heart. She was a good cook and enjoyed making good food. She also loved shopping and always considered others before herself. She enjoyed Christmas shopping and more often than not, couldn’t keep the secret until the holiday-so everyone knew what presents they were getting. She loved to share her joy with others, and as part of that, filled her front lawn with holiday decorations for all to see. She also enjoyed playing cribbage with family. The games were usually guys versus girls, and it always provided some solid competition between family members. There were even rumors of “cheating” in order to gain a win.
Denise is survived by her husband Chris; her children: Bradley (Ginger) Schraven, David (Courtnee) Schraven, and Krystal (James) Falkner; grandchildren: Tyler Schraven, Jazmine Falkner, Nathan Schraven, Dominic Falkner, Ethan Schraven, and Caden Schraven. She is further survived by her mother Darlene Myhill and siblings Steven (Sara) Myhill and Tammy (Rick) Kosidowski as well as her nephew and nieces: Craig (Darrion) Englund, Kayla Lustig and Kristin Lustig, other relatives, and friends as well as her special furbabies Bailey and Brandy.
She is preceded in death by her father William Myhill, her sister Kim Myhill, her grandparents and other relatives and friends.
A private celebration of life will take place in the future.
