Denise Ann Thompson Holmes

Denise Thompson Holmes, 74, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away on March 17, 2024. She was born on November 13, 1949 to George and Mary Jane (Lawrence) Thompson in the state of New York. She was a devoted wife of over 30 years to her late husband Eddie Holmes, Jr. up to his death in 2018.
Denise is preceded in death by her father George, mother, Mary Jane, brother David, and stepdaughter Betty Jean Holmes Francios.
She leaves behind four stepsons: Tracy Holmes, Oliver Holmes, Sr. (Voncil), Derwin Holmes, Andrus Holmes. Stepdaughter, Tasha Holmes-Coppin (Robert); her two step granddaughters: Whitney Mejeur (Kyle), and Vernnetrice Zamy (Gregory); grandsons: Vincent Holmes (Kimberly Bell), Oliver Holmes Jr, (Idalmis), Darius Francois, Daniel Holmes (Victoria), Keon Jones, Robert Coppin, Jeremiah Crockett Holmes; and a host of step-great grandchildren along with countless friends.
A welder by vocation, she was extremely active in and loyal to her church, first Payne Chapel AME Church in West Palm Beach and then for the majority of her salvation journey, at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach. She served in a variety of areas in the local church. For several years she headed the prison ministry. She was most active serving in the Lay Organization and held positions on the local, district and episcopal levels of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 10:30 am at St. Paul AME Church, 3345 Haverhill Road, West Palm Beach, FL.
She will be interned with her beloved Eddie at the Southwest Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL at 1:30 pm.
