Denise Widener Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Graniteville on Dec. 20, 2025.
Mrs. Denise Randolph Widener, 62, of Clearwater, SC, wife of
twenty-seven years to David Widener, entered into rest on Friday,
December 19, 2025.
A lifelong area resident, Denise is the daughter of the late Billy and
Joyce Corley Randolph. She was a member of the 1982 graduating class
at Midland Valley High School.
Denise had worked in the medical field most of her life and was
employed by OBGYN Partners of Augusta, GA, until her failing health
forced her into early retirement.
She had formerly attended both Clearwater First Baptist Church and
Woodridge Baptist Church.
Denise enjoyed coloring, trips to the beaches and the Lowcountry of
South Carolina, namely Beaufort, watching football, the NFL, and, of
course, the Clemson Tigers, and her beloved feline companions (Mrs.
Kitty, Gray Kitty, and Mango). However, nothing made her happier than
spending time with her family.
Along with her husband, Denise is loved, will be missed, and her
memory will remain eternal in the hearts of her children, Patrick
Mintz and Olivia Widener, siblings, Billy Ray Randolph and Sandra
Peterson, her only grandchild, her pride and joy, Bentley Mintz, as
well as other relatives and friends.
The family will greet friends on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 5
until 7 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464
Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life
Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11 o'clock in
the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Bear
Grant will officiate.
Memorials in memory of Denise may be made to the American Cancer
Association. (www.cancer.org)

I pray God blessings be upon you during your time of bereavement and in the days ahead. I was a patient in the office where she worked for many years, and whenever she would check me out, she and I would always chat about old times. She was such a sweet person with a beautiful smile. May the love of friends and family help carry you through your grief. Know that others share in your loss.

Denise was a special soul . Her unique personality was witty and argumentative. We loved to argue about football as well as anything else we could come up with. She loved my jalapeno pear jelly and was proud to show me her recent Christmas decor. She will be missed.

Denise was the first person who took me under her wing and trained me. She was the best ever! (And she said she couldn't train lol) I will forever remember our talks, laughs, many common interests, and watching The Big Bang Theory when I came to see you. I know you don't want us fussing over you being gone, but I haven't cried like this in a while. I sure do miss you tons!

Denise was a bright spot in the days we worked together at OBGYN PARTNERS. We always had laughing, picking at each other times. Prayers for her family. She will truly forever be missed.

Denise will be greatly missed. I loved working with her...everytime I came to work she asked: What are you doing here? I love you Denise. RIP.
