Denison “Denny” LaBauve, 98, a native of New Iberia and resident of Houma, died on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Denny is survived by his wife, Erna Savoie LaBauve; his children, Leah Ellender, Angela LaBauve, Coy LaBauve, and Leslie (Chuck) Martin; his grandchildren, Erin (Jay) Whitten, Jessica Ellender, Philip (Dulce) Broussard, Renee LaBauve, Craig (Nancy) LaBauve, Chase LaBauve, Alicia (Mike) Kern, Shelby Knight, Alyssa Martin, and Sidney Martin; and his great-grandchildren, Lelia Harrison, Spencer Gott, Evan Gott, Keaton Gott, Bella Nuesslein, Makayla Kern, Coy LaBauve, Denison LaBauve, and Theodore LaBauve.
Denny was preceded in death by his son, Chris LaBauve; his granddaughters, Kelsy Gott, Allison Ellender, and Candice Ann LaBauve Tucker; his parents, Clegg LaBauve and Lillia Denison LaBauve; brothers, Marnell LaBauve and Clegg, Jr. “C.J.” LaBauve; and his sister Lorrie LaBauve of Wichita, Kansas.
Denny was a proud veteran, having served in the Merchant Marines. He retired from Franks Casing Crews after 28 years of service (sales, pilot, and manager). He was associated with several community services since his retirement. He was a devoted catholic and parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue, from 1:30PM until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 3:00PM. Interment will follow in the Church’s cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Louis Church are appreciated.
