Denita W. Brown-Haman, the youngest of five children, was born on July 22nd, 1963, at Wilmington General Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. She was the daughter of the late Irving E. Brown & Eva-Mae Brown. On July 24th, 2025, at the age of 62, Denita departed this life.

Denita graduated from Alex I. DuPont High School.

Denita was more than a daughter, sister, and aunt. She added loving wife, mother, and friend, wearing those badges with dignity.

She loved to read all kinds of novels, crochet, needlepoint, online/mobile gaming, sharing her snacks with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and, of course, cooking. Outside of her delicious dinners, holiday meals were something to look forward to. You knew it was made with love, where she and Larry (husband) would stay up late to prepare a feast of great bounty. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends in addition to taking care of loved ones.

Denita and Larry's love story was an amazing 45 years, but started back in the late 1970s, when they were just young teens of 14 and 15. Their parents only lived not even two blocks from one another. They nourished and grew that love into having a large family spanning generations. That love spread to all who knew her, not just those with direct family lineage, but to numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, to friends, and then even their children's friends that are now considered family. Mom D was just a phone call away or would show up to the house to lend an ear, give a hug, or perhaps a stern talking to with plenty of love mixed in.

Denita's roots as a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church all started with her father, Irving, Sr. She shared her love for her home church and faith with all her family and friends. It delighted her to see her family in the house of the Lord.

Having been called home before her were her parents, Irving and Eva-Mae Brown; her older brother, Glenn "Farmer" Brown; and her older sister, Geraldine Robinson.

Denita is lovingly survived by her family, who will forever carry her in their hearts. Her grace, strength, and unwavering love leave an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though her physical presence is gone, her spirit will remain a guiding light-deeply missed, eternally cherished, and never forgotten by her husband, Larry Haman; children, Keafhia Haman-Ray (Marucs Ray), Keonia Haman-Parsons (Kevin Parsons), Larry Brown-Haman (Naomi Madric), Rashonda Brown-Haman, and Trevor Haman; her brother, Irving E. Brown, Jr.; sister, Vicki Williams-Hall (Anthony Hall); 13 grandchildren, Cordre, Deana, Tairon, Levon, Breanna, LaNyia, Atalia, Asira, Chyana, Eva-Lynn, Aden, Caleb, and Ari'ann; two great-grandchildren, Kyreem and Amira; and host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins as well as brothers & sisters-in-law.
