Dennis E. Ackerman

After a valiant battle with agent orange, Dennis (Denny) E. Ackerman, age 78, of Miami, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, with family by his side. He was the son of the late Edward R. and Dorothy (McMurray) Ackerman.
Denny was the cherished soulmate of Jill Groover with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter and partnership. They were the center of each other's world. He was also the treasured brother of Linda (Bob) Prasky and affectionately known as Loco Tio D to Brian and Jennifer. Along with his extended family, Pat and Denise Cugno, Jaclyn Cugno and her family, and Beverly Groover. He will be deeply missed and forever loved and remembered by family and friends.
Denny graduated from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, class of 1964. He proudly served his country as a soldier of the United States Army and as a combat engineer during his Vietnam tour. Upon returning home, he soon decided to move to Miami, Florida where he lived out the last 55 years of his life. A place he called Paradise.

There was no public visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stanfill Funeral Home, Miami, Florida. A celebration of life will be at a later time.
