Dennis William Brecke

Dennis William Brecke entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and best friend, Jean "Jeanie" Brecke, on Dec. 4, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI. He was born on May 1, 1945, in Owen, WI to the late Norman and Lucille (Nagel) Brecke.

Dennis was a man of integrity and heart: kind, humorous, witty, honest, compassionate, and fiercely loyal. He loved deeply and unconditionally, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence brought joy, laughter, and wisdom, and he will be profoundly missed by family and friends.

A visionary at heart, Dennis believed in the power of community and dedicated himself to making a difference. He was actively involved in organizations such as the Waupaca Area Youth Hockey Association, a dedicated Scout Leader, Greenville Lions Park, and Shadows of the Wolf, always striving to create opportunities and enrich the lives of others.

Dennis shared 55 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Jean (Schultz) Brecke. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. He was a proud and loving father to Chad (Roxanne) Brecke and Jon (Jaime) Brecke, and an adoring grandfather to the following 12 cherished grandchildren. Hailey, Cole, Alieña, Luke, Kole, Gracie, Mitchell, Mason, Jessalyn, Joey, Jack, and Grace. To them, he was not only a grandpa but a source of warmth, playfulness, and unconditional love.

Beyond his roles as husband, father, and grandfather, Dennis was a calming presence and a voice of reason, a steady anchor for his family and friends. His legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

As Dennis would often say when it was time to leave a family gathering, echoing the words of his father: "The bus is leaving."
