Dennis Wayne Calvert

Dennis Wayne Calvert, 67, of Spartanburg, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his residence. Dennis was born September 25, 1958, in Hickory, NC, a son of Sandra Monica Tuck Calvert of Spartanburg and the late Bobby Ansel Calvert.

Dennis was an employee of Hilton Displays and was a talented mechanic. His favorite pastime and passion was drag racing! Every waking hour of Dennis’s life was consumed with either racing or thinking about racing!

Along with his mother, Dennis is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Vicki Steadman Calvert; his adopted grandchildren, Jordan Duncan, Ava Sturgill, Jada Sturgill, and Brynlee Sturgill; his adopted great-grandchild, Kingston Duncan; and his special Shitzu puppy, Zoe. Dennis was predeceased by his father, Bobby Ansel Calvert; and his brother, Brian Calvert.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:45 pm Friday, November 7, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A service to honor and celebrate Dennis’s life will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel, conducted by Rev. Scott Davis, Mr. Brett Chapman and Mr. Kaushik Kotecha. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to the Dennis Wayne Calvert Fund, c/o The J. F. Floyd Mortuary, 235 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
