Dennis Robert Cochran
July 7, 1953 – March 30, 2024
Dennis Robert Cochran, 70, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, March 30th, in Albany at Evergreen Hospice House with family at his side.
Dennis was born in San Francisco, California the son of Robert and Betty (Peters) Cochran. The family lived in Sunnyvale, California for a few years before moving to Brownsville, Oregon where they lived for two years prior to moving to Lebanon. Dennis then attended Lebanon Schools, graduating from Lebanon Union High School in 1972.
After graduating, Dennis worked for Commodore Mobile Homes before taking a job at Linn Gear where he made many lifelong friends. He worked at Linn Gear until his retirement in 2019.
Dennis had many hobbies like collecting antique radios and phonographs, woodworking and machining with his new lathe. He loved all kinds of music from big bands to rock 'n roll. He enjoyed collecting vinyl records, reel to reels and stereo equipment to play them on.
A classic car enthusiast, Dennis completely restored a 1951 Chevy Coupe De Luxe, a 1956 Chevy Pickup, and was in the process of working on a 1956 Chevy Belair. He had so many great friends and especially enjoyed spending his Thursday "Shop Nights" with all the guys where they talked shop and worked on cars.
Dennis married Millie (Greenly-Miller) on August 12, 1995 after a "short" engagement of 9 years. They went on to enjoy 38 wonderful years together. Dennis spent many of those years loving his grandchildren and faithfully attending their sporting events as they were growing up. He was especially proud of the wonderful young adults they had become.
Dennis is survived by his wife Millie of Lebanon, his children Troy(Amber) Judy of Temecula, California, Jason(Christine) Miller of Lebanon, Tim(Billie Jo) Miller of Lebanon, sister Susan(Charlie) Grove of Lebanon, and his grandchildren Brady of Salem, Tyler, Chase, Hallie and Hunter of Lebanon, and Victoria, Hudson, Jack and Nixon of Temecula, California.
Dennis' parents and brother, Mike, preceded him in death.
We are forever grateful to Dennis' large circle of friends and our wonderful family who were there for us during this difficult journey the last 14 months. Thank you also to the wonderful nurses, aides and staff at Evergreen Hospice. Your kindness, compassion and guidance during this time was appreciated so much.
A celebration of Dennis' life will be held this summer. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

It goes back so far I can't recall our original meeting. But, we worked closely together for 40 yrs. at the Linn Gear Company. He was one of my special mentors I was so fortunate to have. He always downplayed his electrical skills. I re-assured him he was an "Electrician" frequently. I enjoyed his sense of humor, his work ethic and his kindness he always showed towards me. I/we will miss him greatly.
