Dennis Cook

Dennis Phillip Cook, 71, of Greenwood, and beloved husband of Marcelle Hall Cook, passed
away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2026.
Born on December 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Jacob Phillip J.P. and Vera Attaway
Cook. Dennis graduated from Greenwood High School and went on to earn several Associate
Degrees from Piedmont Technical College. He later obtained his Doctorate of Christian
Education from Divinity Christian University
Dennis retired from Piedmont Technical College after a dedicated career, but retirement only
deepened his commitment to serving others. He spent countless hours volunteering with local
organizations, including The Faith Home and Pathway House, where his compassion and steady
presence made a lasting impact on many lives.
A man of deep faith, Dennis was a founder and leading minister of Cross Street Ministries. His
ministry work reflected his lifelong devotion to helping others find hope, purpose, and spiritual
grounding.
Dennis is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Jacob Phillip Cook (Shelby) of Greenville;
two daughters, Sabrina Cook (Noah Woodyard) of the home and Samantha Hooker (Jonathan)
of the U.S. Army; one brother, Andrew Cook of Greenwood; and three cherished grandsons,
Robin, William, and Edmund.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11:00am from the Blyth Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts and Rev. Jay Pruitt officiating The family will receive
friends following the service.
