Curtis Cook Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stutts Funeral Home on Feb. 27, 2026.
Mr. Curtis Monroe Cook, age 83, of Ephesus passed away February 25, 2026.

His funeral will be held Saturday February 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Geter officiating. Interment will follow in Bowdon City Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Saturday morning from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Mr. Cook was born November 8, 1942 in Bowdon to the late Henry Allison "Al" Cook and Mae Richardson Cook. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

He was retired from Southwire, where he worked as a forklift driver for 20 years. In his free time, he was rarely idle. He loved to work around the house finding things to do. His greatest passion was old cars, and you could always find him working on his latest project.

He was a dedicated family man, who dearly loved his wife, Joann. He devoted every minute to her as her health began to fail, and stayed by her side giving her the very best care until her final days. He also adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: three children: Wanda Meigs (Bill) of Ranburne, Tony Cook (Cindy) of Bowdon, and Alan Cook of Bowdon; six grandchildren: Nick Bain (Michelle), Josh Barber (Missy), Lilly Hart (Levi), Brittany Cook, Mickey Cook (AJ), and Dylan Barber (Brook); fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Campbell (Ray) of Ephesus; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Cook; one sister, Carolyn Hall; and two brothers, Harold Cook and Henry Cook.
