Lucille Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stutts Funeral Home on Jan. 28, 2026.
Mrs. Lucille Adams Scott, age 94, of Franklin passed away January 26, 2026.

Her funeral will be held Thursday January 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Owensby officiating. Interment will follow in Hearn Family Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday afternoon from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Scott was born April 13, 1931 in Heard County to the late Bill Adams and Camella Eady Adams. She was a Baptist by faith.

She worked as a seamstress for Private Line in Franklin. She was very skilled at her craft and enjoyed cross stitching and sewing alterations for her family, friends, and neighbors.

She always had a big garden every year and liked to work outside with the dirt. When harvest time came, she enjoyed cooking the fruits of her labor. She loved to have dinner with the family, and was especially well known for her apple pies.

After she retired from Private Line, she began babysitting children and young people in the area. They all adored Miss Lucille and remembered the love and attention she gave each of them through the years.

She had a straightforward personality, so you always knew where you stood with her. She would always tell like it was. She was also known for having a sense of humor and loved dogs, cats, and birds.

Survivors include: three children: Lamar Scott, Doyle Scott (Janet), and Kathy Scott all of Franklin; two grandchildren, James Scott (Allison) and Kevin Scott; five great-grandchildren: McKinley Scott O'Quinn (Jamie), Audrey Scott, Gracie Scott, Emily Warner, and Amber Dorminey; a great-great-grandchild, Emersyn; a sister, Betty North of Monticello; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Scott; a daughter, Carol Scott; a son, Larry Joe Scott; two sisters; and five brothers.
