Dennis E Crockett

June 3, 1944 - May 21, 2025

Dennis Earl Crockett, age 80, of Roswell, NM, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Dennis was born on June 3, 1944, to Earnest E. Crockett and Juinta Y. Blundy in Roswell, NM.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra J. Crockett, his parents, and both of his sisters, Claudia and Nancy, as well as many faithful pets.

On June 3, 1971, Dennis E. Crockett and Sandra J. Crockett were married in the Calvary United Pentecostal Church here in Roswell. In 2021, they celebrated "50 Years Together" with their family and friends at a party held at China King Restaurant in Roswell. This celebration marked their commitment to each other and stood for their love and their belief in God's love for one another. Together, they have gifted many with prayer, rejoicing, and love.

On May 13, 1973, Sandra and Dennis were blessed with a son, their only child, Jonathan Brent Crockett, of the family home. He has followed in both of their beliefs and has become a blessed man of God.

Dennis worked for the City of Roswell Parks and Recreation for many years and only left, for some time, to pursue his dream of becoming a minister. He attended a school for ministry in San Diego, California, for around a year. Although he never had his own church, he would travel to other places to preach and pray for people.

His son has this to say about his father:

“”My Father!

The most "Anointed Man" I've ever known!

My father struggled to get through high school, but with his father's encouragement and 6 years, he finally succeeded. During the Vietnam War, he was drafted and served in the Army for three years, during which he was

stationed in Germany. At times, he was stationed on a ship, which scared him because he couldn't swim. Of course, his shipmates enjoyed this as they would tease him about the ship sinking and being raised, restored and used again. During this time, he was also able to travel to Paris and enjoy the sights there. His biggest fear was to go to war and to have to kill someone.

During his time in the military, he smoked and drank.

He asked God if he was real to reveal himself to him!

He had a vision of Christ rising from the tomb, with the stone rolling away.

After seeing the vision, he accepted Christ into his life! He quit smoking and drinking. He never had to go to war!

Growing up I always knew that God was real! When I was a little kid, my family would get together at our house, and my cousins and I would play while they had their prayer meetings. We would hear my father speaking in tongues and prophesying, and then he would then reveal the translation of the Prophecy.

When we attended church the anointing of God would come upon him. He would have his eyes closed running around the church praising and worshipping God.

So that was my childhood with this amazing man of God. Although I struggled through my teenage years trying to find my way, it became clear to me, through a heartache of my own, that I needed to change my ways and live for Christ. It was at this time, my father baptized me in my grandparents' bathtub.””
