Dennis Jerome Cullivan

MONROE, NC - Ret. Master Sergeant Dennis J. Cullivan (USMC), 77, of Monroe, NC and formerly of Jacksonville, NC, went to be with the Lord, at his home, on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on July 22, 2024 at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville, NC.
Mr. Cullivan was born on March 7, 1947, in Yolo County, CA, to the late John and Marguerite Cullivan.
He was preceded in death by his "partner in crime," Jean Lee; brother, Jimmy Cullivan; brother-in-law, Don Donaldson; his step-son, Danny Strickland; and grandson, Jeremy Strickland.
Survivors include his sister, Susan Donaldson; daughter, Jennifer Rodriguez (Patrick); stepdaughters, Debra Proffitt (Mike) and Christy Lee Bergeron; stepson, Joey Strickland (Jennifer); three nieces, a nephew, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, all of whom he loved dearly.
After retiring from the United States Marine Corps after 20 years of dedicated service, Dennis spent most of his free time with the love of his life, Jean Lee, until her passing or reading his nonfiction novels.
Viewing will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his honor.
His family wishes to thank all of his extended friends and family for their prayers and compassion.
