Dennis "Denny" R. Dauby, 76, of St. Croix, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, IN, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 2, 1947, to Homer and Mabel (Theis) Dauby.
Dennis was united in marriage to Linda Cassidy on September 25, 1971, in St. Mark Catholic Church.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He served in the Indiana National Guard for many years. He retired from General Electric in 2003 after 35 years of service. Denny was a lifelong farmer, raising livestock, corn, and soybeans. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to his beagles and coon dogs run.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Linda; two daughters, Denise (Scott) Parker of Evansville and Dana (Jon) Merkel of Celestine; five grandchildren, Audrey and Austin Parker and Brandon, Bryce, and Kelli Merkel; brothers, Steve (Christine) Dauby, Darrell Dauby, Gerald Dauby, and Gene Dauby, all of Tell City, and Jay Dauby of Noblesville; a sister Margie (Vince) Peter of Tell City; and a sister-in-law, Millie Dauby of Tell City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall Dauby and Kenneth Dauby, and a sister-in-law, Diane Dauby.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix with Fr. Brian Esarey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristow, IN.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
