Dennis Donnelly Obituary
July 6, 1972 - December 28, 2025
Dennis Christopher Donnelly, 53, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away after a brief illness at St. Vincent's Hospital on December 28, 2025.
Born on July 6, 1972, in Stamford, Connecticut, Dennis was the son of Mike and Joan Donnelly and the brother of Michael Donnelly. He was raised in Stamford and graduated from Stamford Catholic High School before earning his bachelor's degree from Springfield College. He was particularly proud of his Stamford Catholic football career and kept his MVP Trophy proudly displayed on his mantle.
Dennis spent 30 years working in the media buying industry, where he was known for his welcoming personality, strong work ethic, and laughter-filled lunches. Outside of work, he enjoyed golfing, long dinners with loved ones, and cheering on his favorite New York sports teams. He especially cherished time spent with family and friends in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, often found with a glass of red wine in hand and an ear-to-ear grin on his face.
He was predeceased by his father Michael W. Donnelly and brother Michael P. Donnelly.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Meegan; his son and daughter, Sean and Casey; his loving mother, Joan; the entire Donnelly-Fox-Sheehan family; and countless friends who loved him dearly. He was never shy about his love and admiration for his family. He constantly reminded Sean how proud he was to watch him graduate from Notre Dame and cheered on Casey at every Roger Williams soccer game, whether from the stands in Bristol, Rhode Island, or from his couch at home. A private celebration of life will occur at a later date to be determined.

Dear Joan and family, I was so saddened to hear about Dennis' passing. I have such wonderful memories of him and all the SCHS boys that hung together. He spent a lot of time at my house during those years with the guys. One year he took the baby Jesus from my outdoor nativity and put it in the driver's seat of my car! In return, I put silly string all over his car. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am sorry to hear about Dennis. We went to Stamford Catholic HS together and graduated in the same class year. What I remember most about Dennis was he was always kind to me and his classmates. Dennis was fun to be with in class or by the lockers, always up for fun and a good laugh about something. He was a great athlete and friend to all of us. I am sorry for your loss.
