Dennis C. Downey

Dennis Charles Downey, was born on March 16, 1935 in Harbor Beach, Michigan to Robert and Antonia Downey. He resided in Taylor, Michigan and passed away on January 27, 2026 at the age of 90. Dennis is the beloved husband of 68 years to Sylvia Downey. Loving father of Dean (Lynette) Downey and Denise (Tom) Urbanowski. Dear brother of Rose Ann (the late Pete) Bandelo,. Dearest grandfather of Daniel, Monica (James), John (Colleen), Ben (Anita), and April. Loving grandpa great of Elowen, Isabel, Teddy, Elise, and Gus. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents as well as by his siblings James (the late Carmella) Downey, Joe Downey, Catherine (the late Bernard) Shubitowski, Jerome (Shirley) Downey, Patricia (the late Dale) Avery, Michael Downey, and Mark (Jean) Downey, He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Dennis enjoyed golfing many years and even had two hole in ones. He and Sylvia traveled throughout the years visiting many countries and six continents.

Visitation Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23750 Goddard Road. (313) 291-1800. Rosary Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. In state Wednesday 9:30 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection to follow at St. Constance Catholic Church, 21333 Kinyon, Taylor. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, any monetary donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation and/or the Hospice of Henry Ford Organization.
