It is with both profound sadness and a desire to celebrate a life well-lived that we remember Dennis Howard Eister, affectionately known by many as Denny. Born on May 2, 1948, in Sunbury, PA, Dennis spent his years making a profound and lasting impact on the lives of those around him through his charisma, humor, and unwavering love. His journey on this earth ended on September 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.
Dennis was a man of many talents and passions, his life was a testament to his charismatic and loving nature. A reliable friend and a loving father, he was always there when you needed him. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1970 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and later earned a Master's degree in Architecture from the University of Utah. His career as a Civil Engineer spanned over 20 years at ATK Thiokol, showcasing his dedication and skill in his chosen field. Despite his professional accomplishments, Dennis was a man who understood the importance of balance. He was an avid boater and swimmer, and in his retirement, he found joy in snowboarding and tinkering with crafts and projects during the winter months. His love for water was evident in the various swimming awards he received over the years, and his membership in Club Rec reflected his enduring commitment to an active, vibrant life.
But what mattered most to Dennis were his daughters and grandsons, to whom he was a loving and reliable presence. He is survived by his daughters, Cicely (Mike) Miller and Amanda (Adam) Arvay; his brother, Ronald (Cynde) Eister; sisters, Lauren Eister and Jill (Terry) Kiger; son-in-laws, Mike (Cicely) Miller, Adam (Amanda) Arvay, and Terry (Jill) Kiger; sister-in-law, Cynde (Ronald) Eister; and his grandsons, Dominic, Colin, Takeo, and Kenjiro. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Donald Eister, and his mother, Phyllis Ruhl.
Dennis' life was a true testament to living fully, loving deeply, and laughing often. His memory will be forever etched in our hearts, a reminder of a life well-lived and a man greatly loved. We encourage you to share your memories and upload photos of Dennis on his memorial page, to help us collectively remember and celebrate his wonderful life.
