Dennis Giddings

Dennis J. Giddings, 82, of the Brand Hollow Road, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh, April 20, 1943, the son of Charles and Genevieve (Wells) Giddings. Dennis graduated from Peru High School. He served in the United States Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967.
Dennis was employed at Velan Valve Corp for 40 years, working most of his career in Plattsburgh, but also in Williston, VT, as the company transitioned areas.
In his younger days he loved going to the Great Escape and Land of Make Believe with the family. Watching his family enjoying themselves at the parks brought him immense joy. He took great pride in his lawn and enjoyed yard work, he enjoyed watching the Raiders football team, watching NASCAR, especially Rusty Wallace, his favorite driver, he loved airborne and watching his son-in-law race, and he enjoyed going for car rides, but above anything else, he enjoyed time with his family.
Dennis' favorite holiday was Christmas. He loved shopping for gifts and was a thoughtful gift giver. He loved watching the kids opening presents on Christmas morning and always had a fun gag present waiting for them.
Left to cherish the memory of Dennis are; his loving wife of almost 58 years next Tuesday, July 29, Jean Giddings who he married July 29, 1967 at St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain; daughter, Denise Dubuque; and son, Kevin Giddings and his wife, Katie.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald Giddings; and son-in-law, Dan Dubuque.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
