Dennis John Higgins

Born March 14, 1954 in Milwaukee to Eugene and Clarissa (Hubmann) Higgins. Born to Eternal Life on October 13, 2025 at the age of 71. Life partner of Christine Prevetti. Brother of Mark (Cyndie) Higgins, Jim (Donna) Higgins, Geralyn (Mark) Spankowski and Maureen (Dan) Holahan. Proud Godfather of Eamon Holahan and Jenny Higgins, and loving uncle to fifteen nieces and nephews.

Dennis will be profoundly missed by many, many friends, several of whom he's known since grade school.

Dennis was in the last graduating class of Don Bosco High School in 1972, he was delighted to note the building was promptly razed afterward. Upon graduating from Marquette University in 1976, he had a long and colorful career in the Raynor Memorial Library in a variety of positions. He was co-founder of The Jean Cuje Milwaukee Music Collection and an original member of The Western Civilization Blues Band. We will always remember his nimble wit, boundless kindness, vast knowledge and love of all kinds of music, expert genealogical research, songwriting, and playing many instruments from penny whistle to Irish bouzouki to Fender Telecaster.

Dennis loved traveling in Ireland and was known to relish a spot of Irish whiskey. He treasured autumnal days on Lower Clear Lake and enjoyed a variety of sports, especially Packers football, non-LIV golf, and horseracing.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Visitation from 1 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in his memory is suggested. Private inurnment held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
