Dennis L. "Denny" Holmes, 59, of Walker Township, Huntingdon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Born November 27, 1965 in Roaring Spring, he was a son of the late Naoma Ruth (Iser) Holmes and her companion, the late William C. Robinson, Sr. He was married to Ella K. (Powell) Holmes on November 21, 1986, in Walker Township, Huntingdon. Mrs. Holmes survives at their residence.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by two children, Danni L. Weaver and husband, Damian, of Huntingdon, and Gary D. Holmes and wife, Sarah, stationed in California in the United States Marine Corps; and three grandchildren, Carter, Alexander and Ryley Weaver. He is also survived by his siblings, Delores Worthing of Saxton, Terry Holmes of Milton, R. Duane Holmes of Saxton, Lisa Clark and husband, Charlie, of Hagerstown, MD, William C. Robinson, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Mt. Union, and Paul R. Robinson and wife, Lisa, of Walker Township, Huntingdon; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his mother and father-in-law, Gary and Sharon Powell; a sister-in-law whom Denny was very close to, Tracey Powell, all of Walker Township, Huntingdon; and a good friend whom he remained close to, Georgie Fessler, Jr., son of the late George and Sylvia Fessler.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth W. Holmes; brother-in-law, John Worthing; and sister-in-law, Julie Holmes.

Denny attended the McConnellstown United Methodist Church and was educated in the Tussey Mountain School District.

He was a member of the Saxton Sportsmen Association and a social member of the Saxton VFW Post 4129.

Denny was presently employed as a technician assemblyman at the Huntingdon Electric Motor Service, having begun his employment there in August 1988.

His hobbies included woodworking; working on cars with his children; picking raspberries and foraging for mushrooms; farming, especially on his in-law's farm; and hunting and fishing in his earlier years. Above all, Denny cherished spending time and spoiling his three grandchildren.
