Dennis Ray Jurgens, age 78, of Mena, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at his home. He was born on Saturday, August 11, 1946, to Louis Henry Jurgens and Georgia Bernice Maynard Jurgens in Lewiston, Idaho. Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy and carried that sense of dedication and strength throughout his life. A skilled machinist by trade, he was known for his precision and hard work and even would come back to work to help after his retirement. Though he could be serious at times, he had a quirky, fun-loving side that shone through with those he loved. Dennis had a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping-whether at deer camp or on family getaways. He found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors, truly embracing the spirit of roughing it. A devoted animal lover, he always had dogs and cats by his side. Dennis also cherished time spent with family and friends, especially playing card games and dominos. Above all, he was a good man, loved and respected by those who knew him. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Ethel Jurgens; one step son, Terry Scheidel. Dennis is survived by his three daughters, Denise Rene Jurgens of Athens, Alabama, Guyla Benner of Kalispell, Montana, Kathy Jurgens of Kalispell, Montana; one brother, Guy Jurgens of Carson City, Nevada; one sister, JoAnn Jurgens Adams of Orofino, Idaho; nine grandchildren, David Turner, Danielle Derosier, Aurora Jurgens, Dennis Reed, Jesse Reed, Jimmie Stockton, Ethan Stockton, Hunter Stockton, and Rebecka Stockton; seven great grandchildren; step children, Ray Bellows of Mena, Patricia Turner of Wylie, Texas, Cynthia Via of Lewisville, Texas; neighbor and good friend, Debbie Stepiens; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. Online Guestbook: www.bowserffh.com Serving Our Community One Family at a Time
