Growing up in New Braunfels, I knew Dennie for many years. I always looked up to him. In high school, he was a gifted athlete. I played many hours of golf with him from the 80´s until recently. We often ate lunch just before the golf game. All of the world´s troubles were settled there. "Opa" always had a wry sense of humor. He was involved in community service and left a lasting impression on New Braunfels. He will be missed.
