Dennis Michael Keim was born on August 24th, 1946, in Manhattan, Kansas to Vernon Dennis and Jane Marie Keim. He attended schools in Oklahoma City and the University of Oklahoma. Dennis had a long and successful career in the insurance adjustment industry until his retirement. He met the love of his life, Laurie Anne Kaufman, and they were married in 1983. They had forty-two years of marriage until her passing last month.
Dennis and Laurie purchased property on Lake Texoma in the early 80's and began the project of building their forever home. They, along with her two sons Jason and Adam Dill, cleared the lakeside lot and constructed what started out as a lake house and became their permanent home when they relocated from Oklahoma City full time in 2015. Dennis and Laurie were an integral part of the Island View neighborhood, hosting many parties and informal gatherings at their home. Dennis was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever a neighbor needed help with a project and was quite knowledgeable in construction and property maintenance. He enjoyed manicuring his yard, golf cart and ATV rides, being the Marshal of the beach behind his home as well as golfing. Dennis was well known at the local golf courses and actually had documentation of two "Hole in Ones" during his golfing years.
Dennis is survived by his brother, Mark Keim and spouse Barbara of Guthrie, his stepsons Jason Dill of Tulsa and Adam Dill and spouse Marlone Paas of San Diego California, a granddaughter Morgan Ashley Dill, niece Autumn Keim Howard, nephew Dr Matthew Keim and of course his remaining fur baby Sophie.
He is preceded in death by his wife Laurie and both of his parents.
An informal memorial gathering will take place at 2 pm Sunday, October 19th at the Stow's Party Barn in Sander's Island View on Lake Texoma coordinated by friends and family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
