Mr. Dennis E. LaPlant

Dennis E. LaPlant, 68, of Constable, died Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the UVM Medical Center, Burlington, VT.

Born on December 11, 1956, in Minneapolis, MN, he was the son of David and Jacquelyn (Meagan) LaPlant.

He was married to Darlene Bessette on November 30, 1979, in Malone, NY, by Pastor Woods.

Dennis graduated from Franklin Academy, Malone. He was employed as a painter for many years by both Bombardier and Leahy Construction in Constable. He enjoyed keeping busy by working on cars and motors and by puttering around the house. He loved watching NASCAR, traveling to races, and camping! Most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and family, and, in faithful Dennis, aka Slacker, fashion, having a cold one with all his closest friends.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of 45 years; two children, Cory LaPlant, Cassandra LaPlant, and her fiancé, Jon Foster; four grandchildren, Reese Manley, Brock and Cash LaPlant, Rowen Foster; a sister, Gabrielle LaPlant; two aunts and an uncle, Maggie and Chris Buckland, Sue Hughes, and all his nieces and nephews.

His parents predeceased him; sister, Dava Trombley; brother, David LaPlant; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and Thomas Bessette.

A celebration of Dennis' life will be on December 14 at 1:30 pm at the American Legion in Malone, NY.
