Lucille LaPlant of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born November 9, 1932, in Madison County, Missouri to the late Andrew Martin and Ida Elizabeth (Wray) Young. Lucille worked as a cook for the R-1 School District. She loved going to the Cowboy Church in Fredericktown. When she wasn't working she enjoyed oil painting, quilting, and baking wedding cakes for a lot of people around the area. Lucille loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Noby LaPlant; sisters, Loretta Brown and Trula Huffman, and a brother, Wilburn "Sonny" Young.

Lucille is survived by her adoring children; Lewis E. "Eddie" (Cathy) Francis, Ronald G. (Angie) Francis, and Crystal (Joe) Sherrick; grandchildren, Chastidy (Matthew) Russo, Chad Edward (Ashley) Francis, Tyler (Gina) Francis, Toni (Wes) Thurman, Kyla (Devin) Pense, Kelli Ikemeier (Eliot Shields); 25 great & great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; Diana Kuehl and Louise Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son-Wilson Chapel in Fredericktown on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM to time of service at 11:00 AM. Lewis "Eddie" Francis will be officiating. Interment will be in the Little Vine Cemetery on E Highway, near Fredericktown.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to the Madison County Senior Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer Funeral Home-Wilson Chapel in Fredericktown.
