Dennis Ledbetter Obituary
Age 82, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2023. Dennis was born in Kalamazoo on July 11, 1941, the son of Dallas O. and Twila (Whipple) Ledbetter. Dennis was a CPA in Galesburg and spent many years preparing taxes for individuals and companies. In his spare time, Dennis was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. As a hunter, he was a member of the National Rifle Association. He loved spending time at his hunting cabin on Beaver Island. He also had property at Sherman Lake, where he enjoyed fishing and being in nature. He also liked playing golf. He was a Civil War enthusiast and a re-enactor for several years. Dennis was a member of the Galesburg Rotary Club. Dennis is survived by his children, David Ledbetter, Lisa Dolby, Darren Ledbetter, and Lucas Ledbetter; grandson, Drew Dolby; sister-in-law, Judy Ledbetter; his former wife, Gail Ledbetter (nee Simon), several nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Douglas Ledbetter; his first wife, Marcia Ledbetter (nee Vanderberg).

Just heard today that Dennis had passed away. So very sorry to hear this. He was a good friend to my husband Wayne and I. He did our financial work at the dairy and we became good friends. I always enjoyed visiting with him and listening to him talk about his interest in civil was re-enactments and history in general. Sending my most sincere condolences to his family. Dennis was a great man.
