Dennis C. Linehan, 85, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at Brookdale Kettering
Assisted Living in Dayton, Ohio.
Born and raised in Wilmette, Illinois, Dennis was the beloved son of the late Richard "Dick" J.
Linehan and Gwendolyn van de Westelaken Linehan. He was the brother of the late Gwendolyn
Hillinger and Richard J. Linehan, Jr., and is survived by his brother, Patrick A. Linehan.
A proud graduate of St. Francis Xavier Grade School, Loyola Academy, and the College of the
Holy Cross, Dennis valued education, integrity, and hard work throughout his life.
Dennis honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Following his
service, he continued his family's legacy in the printing industry, serving as President of Linehan
Inc. and E.L. Bax Forms & Systems. Upon his retirement, he taught sailing for the Lake Forest
Park District and later became a sailing instructor at Camp Jorn YMCA in Manitowish Waters,
Wisconsin. His leadership, professionalism, and dedication to his employees, customers, and
students were hallmarks of his long and successful career.
Dennis and his former wife, Mary Kathleen Rezek, raised their three beloved sons-Dennis,
Michael, and James (Heidi) Linehan-in Northbrook, Illinois. Family was at the heart of his life,
and he took great joy and pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was a devoted grandfather to Colin, Griffin, Michaela, Patresa, Eamonn, and Maeve Linehan,
and a loving great-grandfather to Charlotte, Giada, and George Panateri along with many
nephews and nieces.
Dennis was an avid runner who loved sailing and singing. He will be remembered for his sharp
wit, deep faith, and unwavering love and devotion to his family.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
