Dennis Lynn Long, retired owner of Long Sales Agency, Lighting Manufacturer Representative, died of cancer on December 31, 2025 at the age of 82.

Dennis is survived by his wife Ramonda June Long; his children, Randall Scott Long and wife Jo Ellen Long, James Ray Long and wife Christi Yvonne Long; one brother, Delmar Larue Long (Jan Enke); Four Grandchildren, Kendall “Bo” Scott Long and Wife Ashleigh Morgan Long, Dr Emily “Bug” Grace Long, James “JT” “Bubba” Thomas Long, Marcus “Bud” Alan Long and wife Elizabeth Weaver Long; Two Great Grandchildren,  Levi “Blu” Scott Long, Brynn “Bell” Effie Long; Two Nephews; Three Nieces; Two Grand Nephews; Five Grand Nieces.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11am to 1pm at Smith Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to CARTI and St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Dennis was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on September 16, 1943, to Oscar (Bud) Thomas Long and Margene Elizabeth Long. He graduated from Ft. Smith High School and the University of Arkansas. He worked at Goldsmith Department Store in Memphis, TN, Thomas Lighting, Venable Sales, and Long Sales Agency.

He was involved with several organizations: McCain Optimist Club selling Christmas Trees, St. Joe Orphange fishing tournament, IES (Illuminating Engineering Society), ELA (Electrical League of Arkansas), Jacksonville Boys & Girls Club, and Jacksonville High School Athletic Booster Club.

Growing up, he enjoyed playing football and basketball. His hobbies were fishing, fly fishing with his grandchildren, hunting, teaching lessons to his grandchildren, boating, and coaching basketball. He was a master in Tic-Tac-Toe.

He was known for his one liners. Here are a few.

“Take the good with the bad”

“I’m not very smart, but I’m persistent”

“Buy low. Sell high.”

“Two plus two is four”

“First, engage your brain”

His slice of heaven on earth was his cabin on the Little Red River. He made many special memories there with his family and friends.
