Dennis Michael Martin, age 73 years, of West Bend, was called home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on January 17, 1952, in Milwaukee to Ronald and Lorna Martin (Ormson). He was united in marriage to Jill Nelson on August 2, 1976, in Milwaukee.
Dennis graduated from Custer High School in 1970. He worked for the City of Milwaukee his entire career and retired as a HVAC Technician. A few years after retirement, Dennis and Jill moved to West Bend, WI.
Dennis and Jill enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and planning the next vacation. He was very outgoing, a great public speaker, and active in Toastmasters. Dennis was always ready to tell a story and or challenge you for a debate. His go-to subjects were theological and Biblical topics, the “good ol’ days,” and football.
Dennis was a football fanatic, and a die-hard Raiders Fan who also rooted for the Packers. Dennis appreciated vintage cars and socializing with the guys. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Those Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Jill; daughters Angie (Robert Stroleny) Martin and Lisa (Pete) Schoenecker; granddaughters, Lucy and Emily Schoenecker; mother, Lorna Martin; and brothers Rodney (Annette) and Philip (Pam). He is further survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Martin.
VISITATION: Dennis's family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service (1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend).
SERVICE: Following visitation at 3:00 p.m. there will be a Memorial Service for Dennis at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Froedtert Hospital -Milwaukee and Horizon Hospice for their care and compassion. The family is also grateful and blessed for all the prayers from family and friends over the past months.
