Darryl S. Zernia
Age 76, of Wausaukee, passed away on April 16, 2025, after a 11-year battle with lung cancer, at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. He was born in Milwaukee on August 20, 1948, son to the late Harvey and Jane (Schilling) Zernia. After graduating from Custer High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, proudly serving for three years during Vietnam before being honorably discharged. He began his career as an electrician working alongside his grandfather in the city. In 2006, Darryl relocated full-time to Northeastern Wisconsin, where he held various positions, including a role with Inlet Electric. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and trap shooting as well as helping out at Lake Noquebay Sportsman's Club. Above all, he cherished time with his family, which meant the world to him.
Darryl is survived by his daughter, Marlo (Steven) Frye; two grandchildren: Hunter and Alivia; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott and will now be reunited after 40 long years.
Visitation will be held on Friday April 25, 2025, from 4pm until 7pm at Roubal Funeral Home, 513 1st Street, Wausaukee and again on Saturday April 26, 2025, from 10:30am until 12pm at Harder Funeral Home,18700 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Burial will follow in St. Hubert Catholic Cemetery will full military honors.
Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee and Harder Funeral Home in Brookfield are assisting Darryl's family with arrangements.
