Dennis Joe Mason

Dennis Joe Mason, 75, of Springdale, AR, Arkansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, October 18, 2025.

Dennis was born October 31, 1949, in Siloam Springs, AR, the son of the late Joseph Earl Mason and Evelyn June (Landon) Mason.

In 2000 he married Lisa E Moore, and she survives.

Dennis held a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Agriculture. He had taught in the Springdale Schools for 32 years and then taught at the University of Arkansas for 18 years. His passion was teaching others about agriculture and poultry science. He was an avid Razorback fan, never missing a game. He was a lifetime member of the FFA and enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Lisa; children, Denise Pierce, James Walker, and Crystal Pendley; a sister Patricia Cartwright; 4 grandchildren, Megan Hershey-Gailey, Alyssa Ketcher, Kye Pendley and Athen Walker; 3 great grandchildren, Ember Gil, Luna Gailey and Madelyn Ketcher; and a host of friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 – 8 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, AR with Dr Steve Abbott officiating.

Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, AR.
