Dennis Norris

Dennis Norris, 66, of Linden, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at Valley Hospice Car after a life filled with hard work, laughter, and love for family and friends.
Born on August 20, 1959, in Fort Stewart, Georgia, Dennis was the son of the late Utley Exzell Norris and Esther Ingram Norris and was raised in Harnett County, North Carolina. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Donnie Norris, Curtis Norris, and Teresa Rowe.
Dennis is survived by his brother, Charles Lee Norris and wife Diane; sister, Sue Hicks and husband Michael; nephew, Chris Rowe and wife Elizabeth; niece, Traci Shirey and husband Brian; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by cousins Linda Hair (Kenny), Barbara McNeil, Sheila Wiley (Terry), Angela Edwards (Scott), Buster Ingram (Sherry), and Ryan Ingram (Jamie) and their sons Aiden and Halen. Additional surviving family includes brothers-in-law Timothy Rowe and Roy Thomas, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
A proud graduate of Anderson Creek High School, Dennis built a life centered around dedication, kindness, and a love for the simple joys of life. For more than 30 years, Dennis worked with Billy Bill's Grading, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and easygoing nature. Outside of work, he found joy in his many hobbies and passions - he loved NASCAR and dirt track racing, often building dirt track cars himself. He also enjoyed both freshwater and saltwater fishing and took great pride in keeping his yard looking its best. Dennis was a caring, loving, and generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was known for his pleasant attitude, his sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 1:00p.m. at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Layton Chapel Baptist Church Activity fund in honor of Dennis.
Dennis will be remembered for his giving spirit, his love of the outdoors and racing, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
