Dennis F. Ochaba

Dennis F. Ochaba, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Ochaba was born Sept. 18, 1946, in Butler, to the late Frank J. and Maude Miller Ochaba. Dennis was a graduate of Butler High School, class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving three tours in Vietnam and retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He also worked as a patient escort at Excela Health Frick and Latrobe Hospitals. Dennis was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church and the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed golfing, his dogs, Elvis and Alaina, and the occasional trip to the casino. Dennis is survived by his loving family: his wife of 12 years, Marie Jakubek Ochaba; his daughters, Michelle Woodward (Mickey), Jeanine Smith (John), and Kelly Bramble (Wayne); his step-sons, JD Baughman-Frena, George McClain-Frena, and Kalil Frena; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 25 foster children. Dennis is also survived by brother, Jim Ochaba (Sherry); his sister-in-law, Wanda Bazzar (Frank); his brother-in-law, Mark Lemley (Lisa); his best friend, Rich; and numerous extended family. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son, James Marshall Ochaba. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., Mt. Pleasant, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Tomas Avilla officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 446.
