Dennis Michael Ollier Jr., 53, passed away on November 2, 2024 at his home in Newport, KY
He was born in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky on March 22, 1971 to Dennis & Willa (Gregory) Ollier.
Dennis was a Customer Representative with the IRS starting in May 2023. In addition to his 30+ years of service in the hospitality industry, Dennis worked in the public school systems for Newport Independent and Bracken County Schools.
Dennis's passion was coaching. For over 35 years, he left a lasting impact through his advice, care, and personality on multiple teams, schools, players and sports organizations. Starting in 1986, "Coach" joined his father in the Newport Firefighters youth football organization. His brother, Rodney, joined the duo on the sidelines in 1998, starting 25+ years of practices, games, film studies, and late night conversations, even when coaching on different teams. Since 2016, Dennis had served as an assistant coach on the Bishop Brossart High School Mustangs football staff. Prior to joining the Mustangs, Dennis coached baseball at Newport High School and baseball, football and girl's basketball at Bracken County High School. Early in his career, he coached summer league baseball and even helped start the Newport inaugural girls t-ball team with his mother. His family is grateful for not only the impact he had on their lives, but also on the lives of so many others in the community.
Dennis is survived by his parents, Dennis Sr. and Willa of Newport, his wife of 33 years Rodena (Stampe) Ollier of Newport, daughter Cassie (Corey) Klei of Virginia Beach, VA, sons Jacob (Maria) Ollier of Edgewood and Kyle Ollier of Newport, brother Rodney (Tina) Ollier of Burlington, his grandchildren Andrew Klei, Abram Klei, Luke Ollier and Beauden Ollier and numerous loving family members.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Saturday November 9, 2024 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home 427 South Fort Thomas Avenue. Closing Prayer will be held 1:30 pm Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations are suggested to the Bishop Brossart High School Football program and the Newport High School Baseball program to honor Dennis's coaching legacy. Please make donations out to "Bishop Brossart High School" and/or "Newport High School", specifying Dennis Ollier in the memo. For questions on how to make donations, please contact representatives at the schools.
