Dennis J. Pope

Dennis John Pope, born July 18, 1950, age 75, passed away at home in Port Jervis, New York, on January 18, 2026.

Dennis was born in Albany, New York, to William Pope and Anita Primeau Pope. He graduated from Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam, New York, and went on to work for the Department of Public Works in Amsterdam, New York. He was also employed by Sears Hardware and ACE Hardware, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee.

Dennis played baseball and softball for many years and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He especially loved spending time with his dog, Allie, who brought him great comfort and joy. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, which meant the world to him.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Pope; his daughters, Tracy (Matthew) Kent of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Tricia Rollo (Gregg Meyer) of Albany, New York; and his three grandsons, Dion (Kali) Selby of New Lebanon, New York, Alexander Rollo, and Jonathan Rollo, both of Albany, New York.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Anita Pope; his brother, Gary Pope; and his sister, Linda Towers.

Dennis will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of the game, and the quiet moments that mattered most. His legacy lives on through those who loved him.
