Dennis Wayne Prather

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Dennis Wayne Prather of Midlothian, Texas, who passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 64.
Born September 10, 1959 in Tyler, Texas to Carolyn Sue Ferguson and Herman Dale Prather, Dennis worked as a welder, steel erector and fabricator, and owned his own business (Procal, Inc.). Dennis believed in the philosophy of work hard play harder and was an avid hunter, fisherman, mechanic, and motorcycle enthusiast. Most weekends Dennis would be found riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle, working in his shop blaring music pausing only to twirl whatever girl showed up around, and belly laughing with his family and friends (typically at his own joke). Dennis stood firm in his faith, confident in his knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. His legacy and joy of life forever lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with.
Dennis is survived by his Mother: Sue Ferguson, Sisters: Dee Todd and Delene Prather, Texas, Sons: Michael Harcrow and wife Ashley and Elijah Roden, Grandson: Heston John Harcrow, Love: Courtney Coward Prather, Nieces and Nephews: Nathan Bennett and wife Kiescha, Tiffany Lucas, and Wyatt Lucas, as well as a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by Father: Herman Dale Prather, Grandmothers: Kathleen Crosby Wallace and Lois Sides, Grandfather: Oscar Prather, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Midlothian Funeral Home on February 4, 2024 at 1:00pm with services to follow at 2:00pm. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on his memorial page and share them with the family.
