Dennis Reinholdt of Creston, Iowa, passed away in his home on January 31, 2026, at 59 years old. Dennis was born on September 5, 1966, in Des Moines, Iowa to Patricia (Brown) and William Reinholdt.
Dennis was an avid fan of cars and a regular NASCAR fan. According to him, he had a love/hate relationship working on cars but could always be found tinkering with his own or someone’s vehicle. He had many automotive awards, having worked as a mechanic for over 35 years. We were all proud of his accomplishments as he earned a reputation for his mechanical skills.
In addition to NASCAR, he loved all sports, especially football and basketball. He followed the Hawkeyes like a religion and was a long-time mega fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Besides sports, his next love was music. His album collection and concert ticket collection were unprecedented. If you were stuck in a car with him, you were subjected to his ability to “name that tune” in 3 seconds. He was a metal-head and classic rock lover. He had some guilty pleasure songs that I will let him keep secret as it would destroy his metal reputation.
Dennis is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Travis) Countryman and Clayton Reinholdt. His siblings Deanna Reinholdt, Daleen Bond, Doug Reinholdt and David (Terry) Reinholdt. Two granddaughters, Lyla and Natalie Countryman and a grandson Noah Pinkerton, plus many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Pat Reinholdt and his grandparents on both sides.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Refer to Dennis’ Facebook page for future details. Memorial contributions are to be directed to the family c/o Pearson Funeral Home, 809 W Montgomery Street, Creston, Iowa 50801.
