He was born in Redwood Falls on May 5, 1951. He grew up on the family farm in Beaver Falls Township where he was known for his hard work and always helping other neighboring farmers. Denny was united in marriage to Bev Dallenbach on December 16, 1978. They were married for 46 years and had two children. They were blessed with two girls, Brandee and Shelby. Denny graduated from Morton High School in 1969. He moved to town and worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was passionate about his work and well known for his excellent carpentry skills. Denny would work long hours and in all weather conditions, always making sure the job was done. Denny was an avid sports fan and would follow local, collegiate and professional teams in Minnesota. Denny was never shy in sharing his opinion of the job the referees were doing. Denny was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Morton for over 20 years. During that time, he served many roles and was fire chief for many years. Denny really enjoyed spending time with his family. Denny could be found in his man cave where he always had some cold beers in the fridge, vinyl spinning and a ball game on. Denny was also an avid outdoorsman and really enjoyed fishing and hunting. Denny was very proud of the big walley he caught at the Morton boat landing weighing in at over 12 lbs. Denny is survived by his wife Bev of Morton; daughters, Brandee (Andy) Frank and Shelby (Joey) Gresch, both of Shakopee; five grandchildren, Josephine, Gracie, Hattie, Samantha, and Jacob; sister, Nancy Zempel; brother, Dick Roper, brother-in-law, Mike Dallenbach; sisters-in-law Linda Larson, Vickie Dallenbach and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Roper, brother-in-law, Terry Dallenbach, brother in-law Gerald Zempel, and sister-in-law Judy Roper. Blessed be his memory.
