Dennis Melton Smith

Funeral services for Dennis Melton Smith, 73, of Winnsboro, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro, with Rev. Marion Collier and Rev. Bubba Ezell officiating, with interment following in Crowville Masonic Cemetery; visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service; all under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro.
Dennis was born March 10, 1951, in Winnsboro, to the union of the late Frank Smith and the late Ida Belle Burns Smith, and passed to his eternal reward July 11, 2024, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro.
Dennis attended Gilbert First Baptist Church; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling; his favorite pastime was pulling pranks.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Denise Smith; brothers Jesse Smith, Frank Smith, Jr, and Lynn Smith; and sisters Ruth Mae Welch and Pearl Foss.
Dennis is survived by his sons Dennis "Denny" Smith, Jr, and wife Kelly, and Davin Smith and wife Shonda; grandchildren Justin, Emma, Dylan, and Eli Smith; brothers: Glynn Smith, Jerry Wayne Smith, and Billy Smith; sisters Shelbie Rivers and Kathleen "Kathy" Brunnett; a gaggle of nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Dushin Carroll, Dustin Ford, Chris Rhymes, Josh Smith, Shannon Smith, and Zach Smith
Honorary pallbearers are Jan Phillips, George Paola, and Jerry Paola.
