Dennis Ivan Smith

Dennis Ivan Smith, 77, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, knowing the love of his family. A Memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery,11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542. Dennis will be remembered as a loving father, devoted grandfather, Veteran, craftsman, and true man of character.

Dennis was born on October 17, 1947, in Port Huron, Michigan. He later made Copperas Cove his home, where he planted his roots, raised his children, and built a life with his wife, Sherry. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Dennis served his country with honor before continuing a life of service to others. He was known for his humor and craftsman hands. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheryl “Sherry” Smith, whom he deeply loved and missed since her passing in 2021. The thought of their reunion brings peace and comfort to his family.

Dennis is survived by his four sons — Frank (Jennifer) Wisniewski, Joshua (Ambreen) Smith, Justin (Jessica) Smith, and Jessie (Casha) Smith — as well as his cherished grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Dean Smith and Janice Gibbons, who will continue to honor his memory and the bond they shared.
