Dennis J. Soricelli, a longtime resident of New Windsor, entered into rest on November 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old. The son of the late Dorothy and Frank Soricelli, Dennis was born on January 1, 1947 in the Bronx. Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved spending time with his 7 grandchildren.
Dennis, a United States Veteran, served in the US States Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry. On June 17, 1967, he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for bravery.
Dennis worked for Stella D'oro for many years as a Route Salesman in the New York City area. Dennis also worked for the Florida NY school system. He also was a referee & umpire for many high school and grade school sports in the Orange County area. He also was an ASA District 4A Softball Commissioner. Dennis loved all sports which ranged from managing his daughter's softball teams, to playing fast-pitch softball and most especially cheering on his beloved New York Mets. Dennis had a huge heart and was loved by so many. He was such a giving and caring person, never asking for any credit that came with it.
Dennis is survived by his loving children: Laura Tangredi of New Windsor and her husband Tom, Debra Venturo and her husband Martin of Cranford, NJ, Dorothy Torpey and her husband Jason of Rock Tavern, NY; his grandchildren: Marty Venturo, Maria Venturo, Nicole Canausa, Daniella Canausa, Dennis Torpey, Julia Torpey and Jason Torpey; and his sibling Frank Soricelli and his wife Linda Soricelli of New Windsor. He also has many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Soricelli, his parents, Dorothy and Frank Soricelli and his brother Joseph Soricelli.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh on Monday, November 14 from 4 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Thomas Church in Cornwall on Tuesday, November 15 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
