Dennis Stanley Obituary
Dennis was born on October 14, 1953 in Clintwood, VA. From an early age, he loved sports and played high school basketball. Later, he would enjoy following Virginia Tech's teams in any sport. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors and going boating and fishing. He was an easy-going, happy, and friendly person who always dressed stylishly. Dennis was known to his grandchildren as "Papa Stanley" and he loved being a grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Toni Stanley; parents, Tilden and Julia Stanley; and sister, Sandra Stanley.
Left to treasure his memory are his daughters, Michelle Shrope (Mike) and Cambria Ledman (Jamison); grandchildren, Zachary, Chloe, Callie, Parker and Ahri; his first wife, Kathleen Savage; and many beloved cousins.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, with Chaplain Chad Reister officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. A celebration of life will take place afterward at his daughter, Cambria's home at 1504 Mississippi Ave., Lynn Haven, FL 32444.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Shrope, Jamison Ledman, Zachary Shrope, Rick Holmes, Dan Hallisey, and Paul Beauchene.

I pray God's comfort for you in your loss. My fond memory of Dennis was when we started a group in high school called "The Greight Arrival" (there were eight of us) and Mike Hamden suggested Stokes for our drummer. He was always smiling and friendly, and a very good musician. I can still hear him give the sticks intro to "Vehicle" in a high school band performance. God bless you all.
