Dennis F. Wautlet

Dennis Fabian Wautlet, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Dennis was born in Appleton on February 9, 1942, son of the late Fabian and Rose Meyer Wautlet. Dennis was a 1960 graduate of Appleton High School. On January 4, 1964 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Sandra Sandy Bogenschutz. Dennis was employed at Kimberly Clark basically his entire career starting at the Atlas Mill. For many years after retirement he worked part-time for Irish Waters Golf Course staying close to the game of golf which he truly enjoyed. Dennis also enjoyed spending his Winters in Florida, getting away from the cold, bitter Winters of Wisconsin. He loved to laugh and loved life, especially when spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years: Sandy Wautlet of Appleton; four children: Pete (Ena) Wautlet of Williams Bay, Linda (Greg) Wilson of Niceville, FL, Brian (Michelle) Wautlet of Appleton and David (Cheri) Wautlet of Appleton; ten grandchildren: Natalie, Claudia, Derek, Amy, Amanda, Ashley, Cole, Logan, Brett and Jenna; three great-grandchildren: Warren, Wayne and Sophia; two sisters: Kathleen (Ralph) Lamb, and Judy (Michael) Courtney; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald, Merrill and Karl; sisters Rita, Arleen, Carol and Marian; and brothers-in-law Cal and Larry Bogenschutz.
A funeral mass for Dennis will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, N2926 WI-47, Mackville, WI with Fr. Robert Chinnapan officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children s Research Hospital.
