Dennis Wheat Obituary

Born to the late Robert Wheat and Beulah Mae "Billie" Spurrier, he attended Moore High School and worked as a Bindery Foreman for Gateway Press since he was a teenager until the company closed. He was also a longtime member of Saint Athanasius Catholic Church. He had been a member of the Louisville Emmaus Community through which he participated in the Residents Encounter Christ Prison Ministry. Dennis was a proud Army Veteran, avid U of L fan and enjoyed golfing in his free time.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his younger brother, Chris Wheat; and aunt, Faye Thornsberry.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Richardson Wheat; his sons, Justin and Michael Wheat; his grandchildren; his brother, Paul Wheat (Cheryl) and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 18th, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Friday, at Saint Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
