Wayne Anderson was born December 3rd, 1944, in South Bend, Indiana, the third son of Hazel Lewis Anderson and Carl Victor Anderson.

Wayne attended public schools in South Bend and graduated from Riley High School in 1962. Wayne was baptized and participated at the All Saints Evangelical United Brethren Church; and he was a leader in the Ecumenical United Christian Youth Movement during his high school years.

Wayne graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1966 with a B.A. in History and Philosophy. In 1962, Wayne met his college sweetheart, Pamela Ormond, of Decatur, Illinois. They were married in August, 1965.

Their son, Kristopher Ormond Anderson, was born December 20th, 1971, in Plymouth, Indiana.

After college, Wayne attended Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois. He was granted a Master of Divinity degree in 1970. Wayne was ordained as an Elder, North Indian Conference, United Methodist Church, in 1970. He served churches in that conference for 20 years. Wayne also earned a Doctorate of Ministry degree from McCormick Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois, and a Masters of Counseling degree from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana.

In 1990, Wayne and Pam moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Wayne joined the Louisville/Kentucky Conference, United Methodist Church and served churches in that conference for 18 years.

Wayne was endorsed as a Contract Chaplain, Veterans Affairs, and served as a VA Contract Chaplain at the Louisville VA Hospital for 25 years. Wayne was trained as a Spiritual Director by the Archdiocese of Louisville. He was a Hosparus volunteer, participated in the Merton Institute as a Bridges facilitator; and was a member of the Lay Cistercians, Abbey of Gethsemane.

He enjoyed both genealogy and cosmology. He also enjoyed traveling and made many trips to the country of Sweden, where he had several close family members.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Pamela Ormond Anderson; his son, Kristopher Ormond Anderson (Stephanie); his brother, Marvin Anderson (Lou); his nieces, Kathy Anderson, Karyn Anderson (Leslie), Kendra Anderson; his nephew, Kevin Anderson (Beth), Karl Anderson (Rachel), Bill Hull (Blair) and David Hull (Judy); his brother-in-law, Steve Hull (Patty), and his loving cat, Ms. Red Velvet.

Preceding Wayne in death are his brother, Ervin Anderson; sister-in-law, Helen Anderson; sister-in-law, Vicki Ormond Hull, and his parents.

I remember the last time we all went out for lunch-Wayne was alert, joyful, and sharing laughs with Ron at the table. It´s heartbreaking to say goodbye, but I find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his father in heaven.

I pray that God brings peace and strength to Pam and the entire family during this difficult time.

May Wayne´s soul, and the souls of all the faithfully departed, rest in perpetual peace.
And may eternal light shine upon them.
