Dennis Shane Widemon

A memorial service for Dennis Shane Widemon, age 60 of Hawkins, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Red Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Dennis passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. He was born September 20, 1963, in New Boston, Texas to the late Johnie Lee and Clara Jane (Ferguson) Widemon. Dennis has lived in Hawkins for the last 11 years and was a member of Red Springs Baptist Church. He worked throughout his life as an oil field Rig Operator. In his spare time Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, throwing sticks to his dog, Gator, and hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnie Lee Widemon Jr., Calvin "Jackie" Widemon, and Anthony Widemon.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Long-Widemon; daughters, Michelle Dimarzio and husband, Rico and Tonja O'Donnell and husband, Bryan; sisters, Leta Hall and husband, Charlie, Patricia Slone and husband, Robert, Betty Moss and husband, Waylin Berry, and Linda Olds; granddaughter, Kayla O'Donnell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
