For 36 years, Denny Weber endured relentless South Bend Winters, hot summers, and the occasional territorial dog as a postman; his routes were centered on the south side of the city, close enough to home that he would walk to the post office and come home for lunch. Christmas brought mailboxes on his route filled with home-baked goodies for Denny to take home to us as a thank-you to the man who brought the mail 6 days a week. At night, Denny would pursue his many passions, which included cooking for his wife and two boys, painting, sculpting, tinkering with electronics, or home improvement tasks. His retirement from the USPS brought more opportunities with Nancy to take trips to see their kids and grandkids and to pursue all that interested Denny. He started painting and sketching following the example of his cousin, Slug Signorino of LaPorte, IN, an artist and musician who survives. Denny's paintings started in acrylics with geometric abstracts, then grew to landscapes, portraits of his loved ones, family pets, and the glass insulators collected by his son John. He was completely self-taught. Denny never stopped learning and took advantage of the proximity of HeathKit in Niles, Michigan--an electronics DIY company. Sundays at the house were filled with Jazz or Classical music-played on the stereo that he built from HeathKit. He introduced us to Austin City Limits on PBS, which we watched on the television that he built from HeathKit. When something broke around the house, Denny fixed it himself. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, but he learned in the process. Denny played the accordion and drums, and devised a way to connect his headphones to that homemade stereo upstairs down to his drums in the basement so he could play along to the Jazz music he loved. Denny's true passion was his wife, Nancy. They met on a dance floor, and for 62 years, their feet never touched the ground. His favorite saying was "This is Living! This is all right." Through his 9th decade, he found reasons to repeat that phrase.

Denny Donald Weber passed away at the age of 93. He lived at Wedgewood Pines Assisted Living Facility under the loving care of the owner, Edith (Edee) Grandison.

He is preceded in death by Nancy Lee Weber, his wife, whom he adored for over 62 years, and his beloved first son, John Brian Weber, who left us in June of 2024. He is survived by his son, Neal Anthony Weber, and his wife, Monica; Daughter, Natalie, and her husband, Nate Piggush; his granddaughter, Paige Weber, and her husband, Paul Picinich. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Palmer Funeral Homes will be managing arrangements.
